Emptiness (LONELY) With LYRICS

Ho love of mine..
with a song and a whine..
You’re harsh and divine..
like truths and a lie..
but the tale end is not here..
I’ve nothing to fear..
for my love is yell of giving and hold on…
in the bright emptiness..
in a room full of it..
is the cruel mistress ho ho o…
I feel the sunrise..
that nest all hollowness..
for i have the way to go.. not come…
And i feel so lonely yea..
There’s a better place from this emptiness..
And i’m so lonely yea..
There’s a better please from this emptiness.. yei yei yei ya….
Aa.. aa.. aa…..
Tune mere jaana..
Kabhi nahi jana..
Ishq mera dard mera.. haaye…
Tune mere jaana..
Kabhi nahi jana..
Ishq mera dard mera …
Aashiq teraaa..
Bheed mein khoya rehta hai..
Jaane jahaan a..
Puchho toh itna kehta hai..
lyrics of ‘Emptiness’ (tune mere jana kabhi nahi jana ishq mera dard mera) ..
And i feel so lonely yea..
There’s a better place from this emptiness..
And i’m so lonely yea..
There’s a better please from this emptiness.. yei yei yei ya….

KAHAANI MUSIC REVIEW

Since scorching the screen as Silk in The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan takes on another challenging role as a pregnant mother in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani. Vidya plays an expectant mother looking for her husband in the vast and bustling city of Kolkata. Vishal and Shekhar have been one the most consistent musical duos in the past year with the brilliant Ra.One. Yet here they take over gritty territory as the music reflects the tone and feeling of the movie so well. Like the city itself, the soundtrack makes balances many genres and shows unexpected layers within the music, which begs a repeated listen!

Aami Shotti Bolchi starts the album with a rollicking bang, as the jazzy score hooks you in with the arresting cello chords and all the orchestration around it. With Kolkata’s great chanteuse Usha Uthup at the helm, the song just pulls you in with the provocative lyrics. Aami Shotti Bolchi, which means I’m telling the truth, is such a great track that details the almost schizoid dualities within Kolkata. Uthup’s voice sounds just wicked on this track, as she sounds completely at home with the jazz sound and she keeps up when the heavy metal kicks in. The heavy metal sounds in the chorus are so addictive, and unusually it’s Shekhar growling like a long-lost member of Slipknot on this fabulous track! The powerful guitar riffs during the chorus lines just implore you to start head banging along. Definitely one of my favourites on this album.

Another absolute gem on this album is, Piya Tu Kaahe Rootha Re sung by the inimitable Javed Bashir, who you just long to hear more from. The haunting manjheera laces the track throughout and all the street sounds during the song come together in such an interesting and beautiful fusion. Bashir sounds just resplendent, varying his voice for the antaras and making this tune, one that will stick with you. The aggressive guitar riffs complement the tabla beats so well, and it works so well in creating a sinister mood for Kolkata, which is likely its own character in the film. The lyrics too are lovely, and Bashir conveys the dard and desperation. The album works so seamlessly as a concept album, conveying the mood of the title character and reflecting the bustling energy of the city.
Next up is the rather ordinary, Kahaani, which is sung by KK and Vishal in the main version of the song. However, what makes this track worth savouring are the innovative lyrics, which involve detailing the noises of ‘taxi ke baawre’ and ‘tram ki ghanti’ of the city. Certainly, the lyrics work in highlighting how noisy and bustling Kolkata is to Vidya’s character. As a situational tune, it works very well but the simple composition may make this one a tad ‘blehh’ on such an otherwise boisterous album. Shreya Ghosal sings the female version of the song. The new trend these days on albums to feature acoustic and minimalist arrangement is definitely a welcome addition in this case. Ghosal sounds so succinct and lovely. Out of the two versions, the unplugged one begs a repeat.

Tore Bina features a splendid Sukhwinder Singh at the helm. It begins with a lovely folksy intro and accompanied by acoustic guitars, which merge impeccably. The way the guitars and arrangement peaks around the chorus is just so addictive and will have you singing along imminently. Singh sounds so wonderful here and his voice is so flawless on this track that when he reaches the quieter parts he just sounds so tender. The bridge of the song, with the humming and backbeat kicking in just makes the composition something to praise and savour. The lyrics too are eloquent and it complements the overall tone of the album so well. Concluding the album we have, Ekla Cholo Re, Vishal and Shekhar’s superlative version of Rabindranath Tagore’s famous poem. At the mike, we have Amitabh Bachchan who sounds so good in this slower version of the poem. The choir that sings in the chorus often act as translators of the gist of the poem in English are melodious and haunting. Thankfully, the English here is not too bogged down with fancy wordplay and is succinct which aids in the song’s overall message. Bachchan always sounds lovely when singing slower songs, and in this gem, he is tender and sombre as well as keeping his characteristic verve.

Kahaani is truly one of Vishal and Shekhar’s best albums of their career. It conjures up a wonderful tribute to Kolkata and works seamlessly in creating a mood for Vidya’s character caught up in this foreign place to her. The music is accompanied by innovative and poetic lyrics, which makes this an album to savour and enjoy for a long time.

"Nadia" - Shankar Tucker ft. Jaunita John

Download Audio: http://vibedeck.com/theshrutibox/nadia
This song is originally by the legendary fusion artist Nitin Sawhney, also made popular by guitarist Jeff Beck. It's a beautiful composition, written very much in the style of a Hindustani traditional song. I moved away from Sawhney's original Drum n' Bass style production for most of the track, but a bit creeps in at the end. Many thanks to the talented Jaunita John for providing excellent vocals.

KABHI AISA LAGTHA HAI LYRICS

LISTEN TO THE SONGS @ LINK
Kabhi aisa lagta hai , dil mein ik raaz hai
Jise kehna chahoon , par main keh paaoo na
Aankhon hi aankhon mein keh jaati hai jo ye
Khamoshiyon ki ye kaisi zuba
Maine suna jo na usne kaha ..
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar
Mere khuda mujhe itna bata
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar....

Kabhi aisa lagta hai , anjaani pyaas hai
Par simti hoton mein vo reh paaye na
Kaisa ehsaas hai , koi to paas hai
Ye dooriyan hain phir kaisi yahan
Mehki lage ye saari fiza
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar
Mere khuda mujhe itna bata
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar

Ye sach hai chahat pe kabhi kisi ka bhi zor nahin
Dilbar ki yaadon ko bandhe aisi koi dor nahin
Sab kuch vohi par lagta naya
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar
Mere khuda mujhe itna bata
Kya aisa bhi hota hai pyar

Kabhi aisa lagta hai , dil mein ik raaz hai
Jise kehna chahoon par main keh paaoo na
Aanhon hi aankhon mein keh jaati hai jo ye
Khamoshiyon ki ye kaisi zuba
Maine suna jo na usne kaha ..
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar
Mere khuda mujhe itna bata
Kya aisa bhi hota hai pyar....
Ik pal jo mil jaaye phir vo chala jaaye door kahin
Duniya mein is dil ke jaisa koi majboor nahin
Maine suna pyar karta jahan
Kya aisa hi hota hai pyar
Mere khuda mujhe itna bata
Kya aisa bhi hota hai pyar.

INTRODUCING SplitSplit

Split's music is equally about conflict and resolution. The themes range from the epic to the mundane; from slimy evangelists to local trains, from revolution to traffic signals, and from existential angst to the eternal favorite – a broken heart. The band is most at home with a steady supply of new ideas, old grouses, and 7-year vatted rum.
Milestones –
Split has played the pants off festivals like ‘Independence Rock’ & ‘GIR’ (Mumbai and Delhi) more than once, not to mention ‘Eastwind’ & ‘June Rock Out’ .They have also been featured on GIR’s Volume X and twice on India's premier Indie Unmetal compilation ‘Stupiditties’. Some of the other notable performances include: • The Jack Daniel Annual Rock Awards • IIT - Delhi (Winners) and Bombay (RU). • Mood Indigo • Yamaha Roxx • RSJ Pubrockfest • Channel V- Launch pad
• Harley Rock Riders (5 city 6 gig tour)
Sounds like -
Ramshackle blues meets rum-soaked rock ’n’ roll!
Looks like -
A spiritual revival meeting gone wrong.

RANGEELE MUSIC REVIEW BY NRI

In a country obsessed with cinema and filmy music, it is truly a feat to maintain a loyal fan base with non-film albums. But considering the immense talent and unique music of Kailash Kher and his band Kailasa, it’s no surprise they are one of the most popular bands in India. After three memorable and successful albums – Kailasa (2006), Jhoomo Re (2007), and Chaandan Mein (2009) – Kailasa is back with with their new album, Rangeele. As the title suggests, it’s a colorful album, but ‘colorful’ in the way that Kailasa does best – soulful music influenced by folk, sufi and western traditions.
The album doesn’t exactly start with a bang, but instead with the melodious, calming and foot-tapping Rangeele. It’s just as effective. It’s a mostly acoustic song with hints of saxophone and flute that give it a classy flair. It also sets the mood for the rest of the album, which stays melodious with rustic influences blended in.
The next track, Tu Kya Jaane, actually goes one step better than the title track. It’s a song about unrequited love and a complete devotion to that love, but remaining fairly upbeat throughout. Kher’s soulful voice carries the track through its beautiful arrangement. The cherry on the cake, however, is whenever fellow band members Naresh and Paresh come in with the chorus. The harmony between Kher, Naresh and Paresh works really well, especially the last two minutes of the song where the tempo builds. This one will make you go for repeat listens.
Albeliya starts on a slow piano track, which gradually builds into a rather catchy arrangement. However, the vocals and lyrics don’t carry as much gusto as the two previous tracks. The best part here remains the arrangement.
The following track, Yadaan Teriyaan, bears a suspenseful, haunting quality from the very beginning. A song about haunting memories, the orchestration and Kher’s vocals have an intensity that works well to evoke a sense of longing. It’s one of the instances where Kher proves once again the great versatility of his voice. The Yadaan Teriyaan Acoustic version has a much more somber feel to it, not as intense or haunting. The effect is that of a song that is more sad and dejected, which is not quite as impactful as the original version.
Kher jumps right into Daaro Na Rang, kicking off a beat that calls for almost immediate foot-tapping. The song has a very unique arrangement, blending what seems like Middle Eastern and country western influences with a steady drum beat.
Kathagaan is an incredibly refreshing track in the album. It changes the tone immediately with its peppiness. Kher seems to be having fun with this song, getting into the full spirit of singing a story. It also helps that the arrangement and vocal backing is inspired, adding a new sound to the already diverse Kailasa palette. A fun listen!
The following song, Babbaji, makes a complete flip turn, going for a much more somber mood. It’s worth a listen but one of the weaker tracks in the album since it doesn’t offer anything too new to the album.
The mood picks up once again with Samvaad (Hudkaan Maan Bitti), a fast-spaced, comical song. Kher once again has fun singing this one, playing with his pitch, tone, and even accents. The song also features a special appearance by Kher’s two-year-old son Kabir, whose vocals add a good dose of innocence to the whole track.
One of the special tracks in this album is Dharti Pe Jannat Ka Nazara, which brings in Amitabh Bachchan for a short cameo. However, more than the cameo, the song itself is uplifting, spirited and memorable. As Kher told The NRI in an interview, the song was composed for the show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (the Indian version of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’), which would explain Bachchan’s cameo and also its generally upbeat feel. It’s short and sweet, but makes you want it to be longer.
The album ends with Ujaale Baant Lo, an evocative song that allows Kher to explore his more serious side. The song warns of darkness taking over the world and calls for the spreading of light. It’s a meaningful listen but perhaps not the best choice as the final track of an album that has otherwise maintained a colorful, spirited feel throughout.
Kailasa’s Rangeele adds another feather in the band’s accomplished cap. They retain their unique charm and wonderfully fused music throughout this album as well. As with their previous albums, Rangeele boasts songs that will be remembered down the line, proving once more that Kailasa is one of the best contemporary bands in India today.

DHONI TAMIL SONGS LISTEN HERE + REVIEW

The bubbly arrangement of Chinna Kanniley with its lovely use of kids’ chorus et al is a delightful throwback to Raja’s Anjali days. Shreya Ghoshal rules the rendition, sidelining a strangely nasal and off-colour Naresh Iyer. The composer’s adeptness at orchestration, particularly with the guitar, comes to the forefront of Vaangum Panathukkum – the raw sound of the acoustic guitar (nylon string?) present all through the song, backed by some classic Raja sounds. Bliss. And matching him in sounding his best is SPB; what singing! The scatting towards the second half is especially brilliant!

Sweeping orchestral elements and Ilayaraja’s sincere rendition greatly help Thaavi Thaavi Pogum whose tune might otherwise have made it tedious after a bit. The brief pauses before the interludes seem to contribute much even in their silence! Finally Vilayaattaa Padagotty wins you over with its simple tune which the composer beautifies with a fabulous strings-led arrangement. There is a prayer-like earnestness in the singers’ renditions – Hariharan and Shreya in the male and female versions respectively – which even betters the whole affair. After a long gap the maestro gives us a flavor of his vintage stuff once again. Delectable is the word!
